The technology operating partner built to carry the whole consequence.

Stratos is the AI-native technology operating partner, founded in 2011 to connect business understanding, executive technology judgment, multidisciplinary implementation, and production responsibility under one accountable relationship.

The industry learned to sell software without owning the consequence.

A vendor can meet its narrow scope and still leave the client with the wrong system, late decisions, hidden risk, lost context, and another team to manage. The industry often rewards the sale, the statement of work, and the volume of output more clearly than it rewards the business outcome.

Portrait of David Robinson

David Robinson, CEO and Founder

Before founding Stratos, David led engineering teams, product development, technology strategy, and significant technology budgets inside companies navigating growth, acquisitions, and public-market milestones. His work focused on turning owned technology into operating advantage and company value.

He saw an industry that rewarded selling software more consistently than owning outcomes. Stratos was built to reverse that equation: understand the business, advise on the right move, implement it, and leave the client in control.

Three meanings. One operating model.

Stratos is a conceptual system, not a name chosen for sound alone. Army explains the collective capability. Altitude expresses the condition the client should reach. Layer explains how senior technology leadership and execution install inside the business.

  • 01

    Army: the collective capability.

The client gains senior technology leadership and a multidisciplinary team that shares context across product, design, engineering, AI, data, cloud, and delivery. The advantage is not a larger roster. It is a stronger collective than any single hire can provide.

  • 02

    Altitude: above the execution chaos.

The stratosphere sits above the weather. For a client, altitude means fewer handoffs, clearer decisions, less operational drag, and enough visibility to see what should happen next.

  • 03

Layer: the capability installed inside the business.

Most established companies already know their business. What they often lack is the technology leadership and execution layer that can convert that knowledge into product direction, architecture, implementation, and production responsibility.

Army is who the client gains. Altitude is the condition the relationship should create. Layer is how Stratos fits into the business. Together, they define the technology operating partner.

Beliefs that change the work.

  • 01

    Software starts with the business.

The technology exists to change an operating condition, decision, customer experience, cost, risk, or capacity. The build should begin there.

  • 02

Advice should remain connected to implementation.

A recommendation becomes more credible when the people making it remain responsible for how it performs against real users, systems, constraints, and business consequences.

  • 03

Prove value with the right first scope.

Walking before running does not mean building a disposable demo. It means choosing the smallest complete move that can reach real use and teach the business something worth knowing.

  • 04

Adoption is part of the outcome.

A system is not successful because it was released. The people, workflow, incentives, training, and operating environment must be able to use it.

  • 05

Software is never finished at launch.

Production reveals performance, behavior, edge cases, and new priorities. Honest partners plan for that reality before release.

  • 06

    Clients own their technology.

Code, infrastructure, data, access, documentation, and operating knowledge should remain available to the company that depends on them.

  • 07

    Collective intelligence beats individual heroics.

A durable technology function shares context, reviews decisions, and makes the system stronger than any one person’s memory.

  • 08

    AI amplifies skilled people.

AI can compress execution and expand capability. It does not remove the need for judgment, context, evaluation, and responsible human control.

  • 09

    Design is strategic.

Product behavior, workflow, information, adoption, and user judgment are business decisions before they become screens.

What those beliefs change in practice.

  1. 01

Discovery before prescription. The team learns the business condition, users, systems, data, constraints, and consequence before deciding the technical answer.

  2. 02

A complete first release. Scope is reduced by outcome and learning value, not by producing disconnected features that never reach useful adoption.

  3. 03

Design and engineering together. Workflows, product behavior, architecture, data, and implementation reality are considered before handoff becomes a boundary.

  4. 04

Risk raised early. The client hears about a material problem while decisions still exist, with a recommendation attached.

  5. 05

Production planned from the beginning. Release, observability, recovery, adoption, and continued operation are part of the definition of done.

  6. 06

Control retained by the client. Accounts, access, code, data, documentation, and operating knowledge remain visible and transferable.

A technology operating partner.

Stratos installs the senior technology leadership and multidisciplinary execution capability required to move from a business condition to a working, operated system. It can advise, lead an internal team, provide the full implementation capability, or combine those responsibilities around the work.

Senior accountability. Collective capability.

Senior strategic leadership stays close to each engagement, supported by a multidisciplinary global team across engineering, product, design, data, AI, and infrastructure. Shared context and cross-project experience make the collective more useful than a collection of isolated specialists.

What the model is built to carry.

  • 01

Product and operating platforms. Internal systems, customer products, portals, marketplaces, and workflow platforms shaped around how the business runs.

  • 02

AI-enabled workflows and decisions. Models, agents, document systems, forecasting, and decision tools connected to context, controls, human review, and production operation.

  • 03

Data and reporting systems. Trusted models, pipelines, Power BI, forecasting, scenarios, and action loops built around decisions that still have time to matter.

  • 04

Cloud and integration foundations. Application architecture, APIs, environments, release systems, observability, recovery, and client-controlled infrastructure.

  • 05

Modernized critical systems. Assessment, stabilization, refactoring, replatforming, migration, and product redesign without assuming the business can pause for a rewrite.

A standard built over time.

  • Founded in 2011, with experience spanning healthcare, finance, real estate, commerce, media, music technology, workforce systems, and other operationally complex environments.

  • Client relationships average approximately three years. The longest active relationship has continued for nine years and counting.

  • The team understands how architecture, access, documentation, infrastructure, and operating practice affect readiness in sensitive environments.

Leave the client stronger than you found them.

A strong engagement should increase the client’s ability to understand, govern, and direct its technology. Stratos can remain involved while the work continues creating value. If the relationship ends, the systems, accounts, access, documentation, and knowledge stay with the client.

Partner with a company built around the consequence.

High-stakes technology work requires more than a convincing pitch. Start with a conversation about the business, the decision, and what a responsible path forward looks like.
